Corey Graves Will Be On WWE NXT Tonight

UPDATE: Fightful Select was first to report this news, not PWInsider.

ORIGINAL: Corey Graves is making a return to the broadcast booth tonight’s NXT broadcast at the WWE Performance Center. The news was first reported by Fightful Select. This comes after a period of absence following controversial social media posts where he expressed his displeasure with being replaced on the main roster commentary team by Pat McAfee.

Graves’ Social Media Outburst

Graves took to X/Twitter to voice his frustrations, stating in now-deleted tweets that he was unhappy with being moved to NXT. In one tweet, he wrote, “Imagine chasing your dream. Then being TOLD (not deciding) that you’re no longer physically able to pursue your dream. Then you dedicate your life to something ‘dream adjacent’ and being pretty f***ing awesome at it. And then, when it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor, being told you’re not famous enough for your own job. Just in case you’ve wondered where I’ve been.” He later tweeted, “I’ve got a lot to say. Don’t miss #WWENXT tonight…” These comments sparked speculation about his future with the company and whether his displeasure was genuine or part of a storyline.

Commentary Team Shakeup

The controversy surrounding Graves stems from the recent shakeup of WWE’s commentary teams. With Raw moving to Netflix, WWE opted to pair Michael Cole with Pat McAfee, using McAfee’s star power as a key factor in the decision. This left Graves without a spot on the main roster, leading to his move to NXT.

A Work or a Shoot?

While some initially believed Graves’ social media outburst and subsequent absence from NXT might be part of a storyline, reports suggest that his frustration is genuine. He was reportedly unhappy with the decision to move him to NXT and felt that his years of dedication to the company were not being recognized. Despite this, Graves remains under contract with WWE and is expected to continue his role as an NXT commentator.
