Cris Cyborg has apparently called out Ronda Rousey for a match in WWE. It’s no secret that WWE has had talks with Rousey for a potential match but it looks like Cyborg wants in on the action.
Cyborg posted video of her training session with former Tough Enough contestant Gabi Castrovinci (aka former TNA Knockout Raquel) and seemed to have offered to wrestle in a tag team match with Castrovinci as her partner against Rousey and a partner of her choice.
Rousey’s MMA career may be over after her UFC 207 defeat but she is still in demand to do other things outside of the sport. The Cyborg vs. Rousey fight is something Dana White has wanted to put together for the last couple of years but issues with Cyborg’s management and UFC have prevented them from making the fight happen. Cyborg has also claimed that she could not get down to Rousey’s weight class without risking her health. If this fight…err match were to happen then it would have to be somewhere else and WWE might be the right place. It’s too late to set it up for WrestleMania 33 but WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans doesn’t sound like such a bad idea.
At one point, there was talk of Rousey taking on Stephanie McMahon in a singles match and there were also talks about Rousey teaming with The Rock to take on Stephanie and husband Triple H. Those plans seemed to have fallen through.
