Earlier today we wrote about the Crown Jewel references being removed from the preview page on WWE.com.
In the last couple of hours, they have removed Crown Jewel from their calendar of events, another big sign that points towards WWE pulling out of Saudi Arabia.
Dave Meltzer reported on Friday that WWE officials were discussing backup ideas in case they had to cancel the event in Saudi Arabia. One idea that was told to me from a WWE source was that they were looking at moving the top matches (DX vs. Brothers of Destruction and the Universal Championship match) to Survivor Series and the WWE World Cup would be moved to another show. The WWE Championship match was already scheduled to take place at Survivor Series as a rematch.
The Daily Beast suggested for WWE to reschedule the pay-per-view for Sunday, November 4 in Manchester since they are already scheduled to tape television on Monday, November 5 and Tuesday, November 6. According to the arena website, the building is open on Sunday, November 4.
If WWE pulls out of Saudi Arabia, this could mean the end for their 10-year deal which would cost them hundreds of millions of dollars over that timeframe. If they decide to stay in Saudi Arabia then they face a public relations nightmare because there has been a ton of pressure put on them by fans and U.S. senators.
