D-Von Dudley: John Cena should break record – but Damian Priest would benefit more from chamber win, I want Alexa Bliss back main event picture and Roxanne Perez is the ‘perfect heel’ to win Women’s championship
The fans want John Cena to break the record, but Damien Priest benefits more from winning the chamber
Some people are wanting John Cena to win because they want to see him at least go to WrestleMania. Maybe there’s a switch involved to where he winds up fighting for the title, or what have you. I don’t know. Maybe they turn it into a three-way. I don’t know. I think a lot of people would like to see John Cena, break the record, or what have you. But again, my thing is, if he’s not coming back, if this indeed is his last year, I think him winning the title cements his legacy, but I think his legacy is already cemented. I don’t know—somebody like Damian Priest I like, and I think that he would be a perfect candidate to maybe take it because it elevates him, especially over that big of a name. I look for guys that I think that can make it, not guys that have already made it. You know, a match like that would make them, so to speak. That’s what I’m looking for. CM Punk is already the man. He doesn’t need a title. Drew McIntyre, I know he’s trying to climb that ladder again and try to get back what he once had. That would be a good fit too. But I just think that somebody like Damian Priest—I’m a big fan of his. I think that he would probably benefit from it more. I think Damian needs that next step up. I think Damian is also a person that can handle it.
I want Alexa Bliss back in the main event mix
Alexa Bliss—as the media tries to make it out, they like to say, “Oh, D-Von and Alex Bliss”. No, that’s my very good friend. There’s nothing going on between me and Alexa Bliss. She’s just a very good friend of mine and all of that. But I’d love to see Alexa get back into the mix of things.
I’m a big fan of Bianca’s. Bianca is like my—every time I see her, I’m like, you know, “You could be my daughter,”. I love Liv. I don’t know, man, that’s—that’s a hard thing for me to answer, I’ve got so many favorites in that.

I think Roxanne would definitely benefit. Doing what she did in NXT and how she is now, what’s going on, and even making strides into the main roster—I think Roxanne would definitely benefit from that. Naomi’s another one. Even though Naomi has been to the dance before, to get her back up to that level, I think she’ll be second for me to come in. But see, Bianca and everybody else—they’ve already been there. They’re just fresh off of it. So where do you go in terms of pushing them to that next level if they already have it? You got to start building from the bottom and working your way up. That was the difference between a lot of people in the Attitude Era. Vince pushed everybody at one point. He gave you the opportunity, gave you the ball to run with it. If you ran a touchdown, the sky was unlimited. If you didn’t, then you were gone.
If you keep pushing the same people to win the title or to go over like that, you’ll never be able to create anybody that will be able to take them on. Like, you need a fresh heel. For every good babyface, you need heels. And you can’t have just one good heel. You have to have several, and that goes for the men, too. You have to keep building. And I think, again, Roxanne, I think, would be a great fit, although she’s a tiny little thing–she’s a small girl, but yet she’s a firecracker. And we already know what the others can do, and you know, so to me, I just feel that she’s the best fit.
