D-Von Dudley: John Cena’s Heel Turn Should Be Drip-Fed As Much As Possible

The following was sent to us from Action Network’s interview with D-Von Dudley:

D-Von Dudley: John Cena’s heel turn should be drip-fed as much as possible, Logan Paul has had huge impact in WWE and Conor McGregor would be huge WWE asset

John Cena’s heel turn and retirement tour should be drip fed as much as possible

As it should. Why should you get everything out? Why? Let it build up. Limited time. “I gotta go see him. I gotta go see him because I don’t know when I’m gonna see him again. Let that build. Let that start something. Let that start a frenzy. So that way, when he does show up it sells out. You can’t even get in. It’s not even standing room. I think it’s a great idea.

Jey Uso is ready for a world title

Absolutely. I think he’s done a tremendous job. Everybody’s doing the “Yeet.”

I have no idea what that means. But I think everything is going well for him, so you know kudos to him. I think he’s got it.

Logan Paul has had a huge impact in the WWE – No one expected him to be this good

I think it’s huge. I don’t think anybody saw this happening. He’s a natural athlete. I don’t think anybody really saw that. I think Logan’s matches with Ricochet really set him above any other guy that came in from the outside world into pro wrestling. Especially where he came from. He’s proven to a lot of people that he has what it takes: the natural ability, charisma, and all that he has. What it takes to basically make it in WWE, and he’s been doing that. So my hat goes off to him. He’s a tremendous athlete. I don’t think anybody saw this coming. He’s a natural.

No, I don’t think anybody knew how good he was gonna be, because nobody knew what he was capable of doing. Some people who follow Logan Paul knew what type of person he was and what he could do. But for the majority on our side of the world, wrestling fans, wrestlers in general, we didn’t know. We didn’t know how good he would be. All of those who said he couldn’t, he proved them wrong, and I’m sorry – if you honestly think that he didn’t prove anybody wrong, you’re crazy. The man has done a tremendous job. He’s been at the grandest stage of them all. Didn’t choke. Went out there and just spread his wings, and just did it.

Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor have paved the way for UFC stars to come to WWE

Ronda Rousey was a prime example. Was she the best? No. But did she hold her own? Absolutely she did. She might not have been a Charlotte Flair, but she did well. People like to knock her for not looking like a Charlotte Flair in the ring. Skill wise. But remember, she went from the UFC to the WWE. That’s a huge transition. That’s huge. And she did very well. She did very well. So could you find somebody like McGregor and all of them coming in? Absolutely. You probably can. I don’t see why not? With the proper training and going over stuff the way we do as wrestlers, I think they can do the same thing, so do I think it’s out of touch? No, I think it’d be a great idea if we can combine those two, because guess what it’s called – longevity.

WWE will be an easy transition for Conor McGregor

Absolutely. I think McGregor is a great candidate for a WWE prospect. He has charisma. He’s in great shape. He has the skills just in the UFC. You could turn that around and make it into pro wrestling, which I think he can. It’ll be an easy transition for him.McGregor is a natural athlete.

I think McGregor would also be a heel. I could see him coming in at first as a babyface because he’s coming in from the UFC. And people know who he is, but I think deep down in his heart he’s a heel. He’s a heel. True and true. I love McGregor. I love his cockiness. I love his willingness not to care about what anybody thinks. He goes in there, and he does what he’s supposed to do, and that’s it. If he gets knocked out in a fight, because he talked crap, guess what? He gets up and fights another day. But 9 out of 10 times it doesn’t happen to him. He does it today. He does it to the other person. So I think McGregor would be a huge asset to WWE.

Bubba Ray was right in his treatment of Brayden Ray – These kids need to learn to respect the business

I agree with Bubba. When Bubba talks, people tend to get scared, a little nervous, or they take it the wrong way because of how forceful he is. It’s not that he’s forceful. It’s that he’s passionate about it. Let me explain something to you. I grew up in this business. Exactly what Bubba did was exactly what the trainers did to you back in the day 10 times worse. So they’re sitting up here talking about what Bubba did. If this was 15, 20 years ago, it would be everywhere. That’s just the way the trainers were back then, and that’s the way it should go back to. There’s so much disrespect going on right now. These kids need to learn the right way of being broken into the business. And this is why respect in this business is a lost art.
