UFC President Dana White recently spoke with Sports Illustrated to discuss a wide range of topics.
During the interview, he was asked about the possibility of Brock Lesnar returning to the promotion to fight again even though his last fight was in 2016 that originally saw him beat Mark Hunt at UFC 200 only for that the decision to be overturned to a no-contest due to a failed drug test.
Lesnar is technically a free agent right now, but the belief is that when WWE is able to run shows again with fans then the chances of him signing a new deal increase greatly.
While a rumored fight with Jon Jones would draw money, White stated that Lesnar doesn’t need the money.
"I don’t think Lesnar would come back again. Lesnar’s made a lot of money, and with his age and everything else, I just don’t see it happening. What’s a massive fight, if it ends up happening, is [Israel] Adesanya versus [Jon] Jones. I think that is more likely [than Lesnar-Jones]."
White continued by stating that fighting is a young man’s game. He praised the former UFC Heavyweight Champion for coming in and proving everyone wrong. White thinks Lesnar has accomplished everything you need to accomplish.
"To come back and fight Jones, it would be all about the money, and money is one thing that guy doesn’t need."
White stated last month that he hasn’t heard from Lesnar.
