UFC President Dana White has shared the latest update on a potential fight that would see Brock Lesnar take on UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier. This is a fight that the promotion has been trying to make since last July once “DC” beat Stipe Miocic to win the title and the post-fight incident that occurred when Lesnar pushed Cormier.
The UFC boss talked about this fight during the post-UFC 235 press conference on Saturday night where White made it known that Cormier will get his fight against Lesnar next.
“I think that Brock and Cormier want that fight. “I owe Cormier a lot. Cormier wants that fight so Cormier’s going to get it.”
When pressed on a timetable for the fight, White made it known that he has no clue due to him not talking with Lesnar at all.
“He’s doing his WWE thing. He’s one of those guys that when he’s ready, he’ll call me. I don’t chase anybody around man, I make fights.”
Lesnar has yet to give the $250,000 to NSAC for the fine, which means he remains indefinitely suspended and won’t be licensed to fight again until this fine is paid. Thus, putting his UFC career on hold.
