We are just a few weeks away from the end of Daniel Bryan’s contract with WWE and he has yet to sign a new deal. The company likes to get deals signed a few months in advance but that has not happened in Bryan’s case.
Dave Meltzer reported that the company has given him time off for some weekends to lighten his schedule as he asked for. Bryan has said in interviews that he was leaning towards staying with WWE but he wanted a reduced schedule so he could allow his body some time to heal and so he could spend time with his family.
As of this writing, he has not agreed to a new deal, despite reports out there claiming he signed a new contract. Bryan is scheduled to take on The Miz at SummerSlam in Brooklyn. Apparently, WWE is expecting him to stay because he is advertised for a Smackdown Live show in September, the Super Show-Down in Melbourne, Australia and he is advertised for a live event in Tampa in December.
