The date and location for next year’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view have been locked down.
WWE announced through the St Louis Post-Dispatch that the show will take place on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in St Louis, Missouri from The Dome at America’s Center with over 40,000 fans expected to be in attendance.
WWE had 42,715 people in Houston in 2020 and 48,193 fans in attendance from Phoenix in 2019 for the Royal Rumble. This year’s show was held inside of the ThunderDome.
The article had quotes from the Mayor of St Louis, Tishaura Jones, and WWE’s Executive Vice President of Special Events, John P Saboor. The venue has a capacity of 66,965 seats.
Just like SummerSlam this year, next year’s Royal Rumble will take place on a Saturday, unlike the traditional Sunday date.
There had been talk of WWE moving the Royal Rumble to February, but that clearly changed. Here is the updated PPV schedule for the company:
Crown Jewel: Thursday, October 21, 2021 – Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the King Fahd International Stadium
Survivor Series: Sunday, November 21, 2021 – Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center
TLC: Sunday, December 19, 2021 – location TBA
Day 1: January 1, 2022 – Atlanta, Georgia at the State Farm Arena
Royal Rumble: January 29, 2022 – St Louis, Missouri from The Dome at America’s Center
