Date and location for WWE King Of The Ring finals

More details have been revealed for the return of the King Of The Ring tournament.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that the multi-week tournament will take place on both brands (Raw and SmackDown Live) and the finals will take place on September 15 at the Clash Of Champions pay-per-view.

WWE has not yet revealed the brackets for the tournament but, as noted earlier, here are the competitors scheduled for the tournament.

From Raw: The Miz, Ricochet, Cedric Alexander, Drew McIntyre, Cesaro, Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, Samoa Joe

From SmackDown: Elias, Kevin Owens, Chad Gable, Andrade, Shelton Benjamin, Buddy Murphy, Ali, Apollo Crews

The King Of The Ring started in 1986 and Harley Race was crowned as the first king. They revived the tournament as a pay-per-view in 1993 with Bret Hart winning and being declared as the king. The most famous King Of The Ring tournament took place in 1996 when Stone Cold Steve Austin won. That was when he gave his famous “Austin 3:16” promo after he defeated Jake “The Snake’ Roberts.

The last KOTR winner was Wade Barrett when he won the tournament in 2015.
