Dave Bautista’s wish to star in a buddy cop film with Jason Momoa has been granted.
Deadline.com reported today that MGM is expected to win the bidding war for the right to develop this project.
The film will be written by Jonathan Tropper, who worked with the former WWE star and Momoa on the AppleTV+ drama “See”. They hope to shoot the film in 2023. A director has yet to be confirmed for it.
The buddy cop movie is said to be similar to the Lethal Weapon series. Bautista reacted to the news by posting this on Twitter:

Bautista taking a chance on himself as an actor continues to pay off and he had a ton of success just this year in addition to his previous work. He is currently filming Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and starred in films such as “Dune,” a massive hit at the box office, as well as “Army of the Dead” on Netflix.
