David Arquette has been back in the professional wrestling world for the past several months now. You might remember Arquette from the early 2000s film, “Ready To Rumble,” based on a fictional WCW wrestler attempting to regain glory. After the film’s success amongst the professional wrestling community, WCW actually brought in Arquette for real storylines.
He ended up winning the WCW World Title, which many consider a huge joke to this day, and one of many reasons WCW eventually collapsed. Now, Arquette is trying to earn some respect in regards to his professional wrestling career. He has been working indy shows and training hard.
Arquette is certainly dedicated but admits in a recent interview with TMZ Sports that reaching WWE isn’t his goal. Instead, he simply wants to earn respect in the business:
“No WWE is not the goal but I love WWE and would love to do anything with them. My main goal is getting some respect. That is the main goal. I called out Cody Rhodes so if I can get him to respect me I think I can get other people to respect me.”
As for who his dream match in professional wrestling would be, Arquette wants to work with Cody Rhodes, who he recently called out:
“Cody. He is one of the best in the world so if I could go toe to toe with him I think that would be a good show.”
