David Otunga: Donald Trump Rumors ‘Make Sense’ For John Cena’s Final Match

David Otunga gave his thoughts on the 16-man tournament for John Cena’s retirement, and speculated on the “strange” choice of Washington, D.C. for the final match.

Speaking on TMZ’s Inside The Ring, Otunga praised the tournament concept. “I think it’s cool too… by having this tournament, in a way, these guys are contributing to John Cena his final match… 16 guys that kind of are involved in it, and then they can all be highlighted. So I think it’s a really cool idea”.

“I’m Trying To Make It Make Sense”

However, Otunga questioned the choice of location for the finale, noting that the rumors of Donald Trump’s involvement would explain the “random” booking.

“I kind of wonder, what if that’s the goal? Because there’d be a reason for it, like I heard this too, and I could definitely see that happening,” Otunga said of the rumors. “I could see it because to me, it was kind of strange that they chose a Saturday Night’s Main Event for Cena’s last ever match, weird and in Washington, DC, of all places. No disrespect to Washington DC, but I don’t really get the connection. You know, it’s not MSG, or it’s not Boston, so I don’t know what the connection would be there with Cena. It seems kind of random, so I’m trying to make it make sense”.

He concluded that the rumor is the only thing that makes the choice logical. “And well, that side kind of makes sense. If Trump is involved, that would make sense. And it would be a big get to have him at that show.”

When asked if Vince McMahon should also be there, Otunga added, “Yeah, he should be there, but I don’t know if they’ll let him be there”.
