David Otunga: ‘I Don’t Have Any Bad Blood With John Cena. It’s Quite The Opposite’

David Otunga took a moment on TMZ Inside The Ring to clear up rumors regarding his relationship with John Cena. Otunga had previously posted a video detailing a specific incident where Cena was upset with him after a match, which led some fans to believe there was genuine animosity between the two.

Otunga noted that the story was an isolated incident and that he holds Cena in high regard. “I told the story about one time, you know, we had a match together, and he went off on me because of a spot that was blown after it. But like him and I don’t hate him, we get along. That was one thing that happened, like, years ago. But like, I think people were so shocked just to hear about it, they felt like I was disparaging him or something.

But it’s not that at all. I do say a lot of really positive things about it, because actually, he was a giant part of my career and really helped. He helped me with my lawyer gimmick, and so, like, we did get along, but it’s like, that’s what I mean. On my channel, I share the good and the bad, like, I’m just gonna tell you what happened.

He went on to explain that Cena was actually instrumental in developing his character in WWE. “I don’t have any bad blood with John Cena. It’s quite the opposite. Like I was on here and told you, I do think he quite possibly could be the goat… he was a giant part of my career and really helped, he helped me with my lawyer gimmick, and so, like, we did get along.”
