David Otunga: WWE Nexus Documentary ‘Was Completed’

David Otunga stated that the long-discussed WWE documentary on The Nexus was completed, even though it never saw the light of day. The Nexus faction debuted in 2010, immediately putting WWE fans on notice after they laid out John Cena. The group feuded with the top WWE star for some time, including a main event match against Team WWE at SummerSlam that year. Now, David Otunga has shared new details about the shelved documentary.

Documentary Was Finished

In a new interview with MuscleManMalcolm, David Otunga shared that a producer on the documentary told him it was finished. He also noted that his interview was saved for last.

“It was completed, and then it ended up like they just finished it. I talked to the guy, one of the producers, and literally, the next day, two days later, he got fired. They all got fired. They got let go in COVID, but I just talked to him, and man, this guy was telling me, he was like, Yo, the documentary was so good. ‘He’s like, it was long, but they made us edit it down.’ He said he spent a whole day doing this, got it to where they wanted it.”

Otunga Was The “Main Event”

Otunga continued, noting that the producer told him his part was “fire” and that he was the “main event” of the documentary.

“He was telling me how fire my part was. He told me my interview was so good they were saving me for last. I know I smoked it. I’ll be honest with you. But I was just happy that they appreciated it too. They put me on last. I was the main event of the documentary, if you will. But anyway, now it’s not going to see the light of day. I think we should figure out how to get that. But it’s completed. The guy told me it’s completed.”
