WWE has reportedly expressed interest in bringing back FTR, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. Although their AEW deals are due to expire this summer, AEW has a one year option that can be picked up. News is expected to come out soon whether AEW plans on picking up the option/contract extension.
During an appearance on the Wrestling Perspective Podcast,Harwood commented on the situation.
“We didn’t need any damage control. I think both companies are in the business of getting talent and getting talented talent, not just any talent, and I think they’ve seen the wave we’ve made, especially in the last 8-10 months, more so in the last 4 months. So yeah, why wouldn’t they put feelers out? Why wouldn’t they ask about it?”
Harwood stated FTR respects AEW President Tony Khan so much that they would never go behind his back and talk with another company while they’re still under contract with AEW.
Harwood stated that they’re going to go where pro wrestling takes them and wherever the best opportunity is for them and build on their legacy. While money is a factor, those things are more important to him than a check.
While in WWE, they had a successful run in NXT, but mostly used as a comedy act once on the main roster.
