Dean Ambrose officially a free agent, removed from WWE roster

It’s official…Dean Ambrose is a free agent and he is now allowed to sign with any company if that is what he wants to do.

WWE has moved Ambrose to the Alumni section of WWE.com, which indicates that his contract has expired and he is no longer part of the talent roster.

Ambrose said goodbye to WWE fans on Sunday night in Moline, IL when he teamed with Shield members Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns for the final time against Bobby Lashley, Baron Corbin, and Drew McIntyre.

Some conspiracy theorists on social media are speculating that this is all an elaborate work setting up Ambrose’s eventual return. They point to comments he made on Sunday night just before his last match with WWE. Click here if you want to hear what he said.

What I can say is that Ambrose is legitimately done and he has expressed frustration with the creative. The company offered him more money to stay but he declined. Ambrose is not known to be a big spender and he’s saved plenty of money so he doesn’t have to work anymore if he chooses not to.

Friends of Ambrose have told me that he is not retired so we’ll probably see him in a wrestling ring at some point. All Elite Wrestling would seem like a logical option for him and it would not shock me if he shows up at AEW Double Or Nothing in Las Vegas. Ambrose happens to live in the area.
