Dean Ambrose reportedly went off script during WWE Raw promo

Former WWE Champion Dean Ambrose had an in-ring segment with Seth Rollins on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw in Grand Rapids, MI at the Van Andel Arena on the USA Network.

This came right after Rollins had an exchange of words with Paul Heyman. Once the segment wrapped up, Ambrose came walking down where he stated, “I’ve only got one thing got to say to you, ‘Slay the beast.'” This led to him getting out of the ring and sat at ringside in order to wait for his match against EC3 to start.

It turns out that the original promo was set to be longer than what it actually was. Longtime pro wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer mentioned on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that the original script was planned to have Ambrose have more lines to deliver in this promo that included The Shield, Roman Reigns, and then lead to him finishing it up by stating, “Slay the beast.”

Obviously, that didn’t happen, and Ambrose kept things brief. Whether this was a situation where Ambrose decided to go against the script or simply forgot his lines remains to be unknown.

WWE has already confirmed reports that Ambrose has decided to leave the company after WrestleMania 35 in April.
