Dean Ambrose says being overlooked is part of his success in WWE, comments on his future in wrestling

Dean Ambrose recently participated in a Q&A with The Los Angeles Times to promote Sunday’s WWE Royal Rumble. During the interview, he was asked if he feels overlooked in the Royal Rumble match. He said that is part of the reason for his success in WWE and noted that there are a lot of guys in the match such as Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, the Wyatts, so he feels that he goes under the radar and pointed out that is what happened last year. “I might just play a game and tie myself to the bottom rope and try to be inconspicuous until it gets down to the last couple of guys.”

When asked about being featured on Total Divas, he said that is a lot of fun to be on the show and that they pay him to hang out with his girlfriend (Renee Young) as well as to act like a goofball and drink margaritas. He noted that he would be an idiot to say no to that.

When asked about if he sees himself retiring, he said that he does and that he could end up retiring when he is a 50 as that happens to a lot of wrestlers. “I can tell you I want to get out early and end up eating my own words. All of a sudden I’m 50 and I’m still walking out there. At this point I see myself retiring and disappearing into the ether way before anyone would expect. And when I am done, I will be gone.” He added that he could also easily see himself wrestling when he is 60 and jumping off the top rope and breaking his hip. He noted that he could be a hilarious geriatric wrestler.
