Dean Ambrose turned face at Saturday’s WWE live event

Dean Ambrose was a face, at least for one night, when he wrestled in a Fatal 4-Way for the Intercontinental Title at the live event in Saskatoon, Canada. It was Ambrose vs. Finn Balor vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Drew McIntyre.

Seth Rollins was in Canada but did not work on the show for some reason so Ambrose was his replacement and we’re told that he worked as a total babyface and no hints of the Ambrose we’ve seen on WWE TV in recent months. Ambrose also cut a babyface promo and said to Bobby Lashley that “no one in this town wants to see your butt.”

Lashley retained his title by getting the pin on Ambrose.

This could be one of several things. It could be that they turned him face to keep him happy in hopes of getting him to stay with the company or it could have been temporary for this weekend’s live events or WWE realizes that they made a mistake with his heel turn.

We should know more on Monday night because he is scheduled to appear on Raw.

As noted a few days ago, Ambrose recently gave notice to the company to let them know that he would not be renewing his contract when it expires in April. Ambrose has told friends that he wants to continue wrestling after WWE, which adds fuel to the speculation that AEW might be his destination.
