Deonna Purrazzo was the guest on Wednesday’s Busted Open Radio on Sirius XM. She was on the show to talk about her exit from WWE and what she is doing now with Impact Wrestling.
Here are some highlights from her interview.
Deonna Purrazzo talking about going to Impact from NXT: “Everyone at Impact are people I have known from before I went to NXT. They saw me coming up in every stage of my life. They have been welcoming and everyone was so happy I was in the locker room. They wanted me to feel a part and feel comfortable and not walk on eggshells. I never got to that point in NXT. I’ve never got to that point where I was comfortable in my position there. Everyone here understands who I am and what I’m about. It was liberating and freeing and the best feeling that I am wanted.”
The hosts also welcomed the author of the new Andre The Giant book available on Amazon and in bookstores everywhere.
Bertrand Herbert, author of the new Andre the Giant book “The Eighth Wonder Of The World: The true story of Andre the Giant: “It was a slow process to go to that from the documentary. It was much more difficult in the sense you have to dig a little bit deeper, but we were so lucky that there were still people like Stan Hansen or Mean Gene Okerlund, who I interviewed for the book…We did a lot of digging. There are 10 pages of references at the end. We tried to make it the best book and the ultimate book of Andre’s life. We have been getting a lot of love about the book and we are very proud of it.”
Herbert talking about the rumor Andre had back surgery before WrestleMania III: “After that match, he needed the surgery. There was always the story told that the surgery to his back was before WrestleMania III, but it was actually after. We were able to discover paperwork that was done that indicated it took place after WrestleMania III. After WrestleMania III, he did not know physically if he was ever going to another match. For him, that match was important. It was the match he knew because he was going to be linked to Hulk forever on that stage.”
