Despite not fighting, CM Punk has submitted more drug tests this year than four of UFC’s champions

CM Punk still has ties with the UFC  even though he hasn’t fought in a few years.

USADA works with the UFC for their drug testing policy and he’s being tested by USADA quite often.

TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter looked into USADA’s database to see which fighters are still being drug tested. It turns out that Punk is not only being drug tested but is giving out more samples than some of the biggest names in the promotion.

He has submitted more samples than four UFC champions although the names weren’t revealed. You can see his tweet here:

“Based on the most recent USADA testing history update, USADA has not tested Conor McGregor since January and CM Punk has submitted more samples than four UFC champions, three of whom have competed in 2020.”

Punk lost his first pro-MMA fight back at UFC 203 in Cleveland, Ohio against Mickey Gall via first round submission. In his second bout, he lost to Mike Jackson by decision at UFC 225.

Although he’s still under contract with the UFC, after his second fight in the promotion, UFC President Dana White went on record by stating that it wasn’t likely that Punk would fight inside of the Octagon again.

Punk is currently doing commentary for CCFL promotion, which airs its events on the UFC’s streaming service, UFC Fight Pass. He was part of WWE Backstage on FS1 before the show was canceled.
