Former Impact Wrestling star Killer Kross made his NXT television debut last Wednesday in an interesting final segment of the show.
It turns out that the new name was Kross’ idea as opposed to WWE’s. “Carrion” is the decaying flesh of dead animals, which is the meaning behind the first name that replaced Killer. For obvious reasons, WWE wasn’t going to go with that name.
It was noted that there are also ties to Latin and Greek mythology and “Kharon” in the name. It turns out that Kharon was the ferryman of Hades who carried the souls of the newly deceased across the rivers Styx and Acheron.
Finally, Kross also has a tattoo of “Kheiron” on his back.
It looks like Kross will be feuding with Tommaso Ciampa going forward as Kross attacked the former NXT Champion in the segment. It is clear that Kross will be getting a big push right off the bat, which lines up with previous reports before his debut.
Dave Meltzer reported a couple of months ago that Kross would be fast-tracked when he made his debut.
