Did Dolph Ziggler really quit WWE?
Following the opening segment of this week’s episode of Smackdown Live, several readers have emailed us to ask if Dolph Ziggler has quit WWE. The emails started pouring in after Daniel Bryan announced that the United States Championship was officially vacant after Ziggler left it in the ring last week. Bryan also announced that a United States Championship tournament would decide who would be the next champion.
Well, as we noted last week, Dolph Ziggler has not quit WWE and he will continue to wrestle on non-televised events during the next few weeks. I’m not exactly sure where all of this is headed but they do have a storyline in mind for Ziggler. My guess is that Ziggler will decide to ruin the U.S. title finals and we still won’t have a champion when the tournament is over. That is just speculation on my part.
For whatever it’s worth, Ziggler is advertised for next week’s Smackdown Live in Orlando. That doesn’t necessarily mean that he will appear on TV. He might just be advertised for the dark match that takes place after 205 Live.
On a related note, Bobby Roode defeated Baron Corbin to advance in the tournament and later in the show, Jinder Mahal advanced when he defeated Tye Dillinger.
