Disney’s “Moana 2” Featuring The Rock Reaches Historic Box Office Milestone

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson had a massive hit on his hands with Disney’s “Moana 2” animated film. The movie came out in the United States on November 27, 2024.

The Rock is also working on a live-action adaptation of “Moana” in production with a July 2026 release. Both movies follow the smashing success of “Moana” in 2016.

The Rock took to his Instagram account to note the historic milestone. He wrote the following in the caption of his post:

“Moana 2 has reached an historic milestone.$1Billon+ at the global box office. Fa’afetai tele lava (thank you so much) for the global embrace of our Polynesian culture. Empowering ALL of our kids – and adults – from every culture and color to ALWAYS reach for more with your GRIT and your MANA. Love you guys and thank you. Incredible.”

The Rock was last seen on WWE television during the January 7th episode of WWE NXT, where he did an in-ring promo. He is currently not scheduled to wrestle at WrestleMania 41.
