Edge, real name Adam Copeland, has his next Hollywood project lined up as he is set to star in the “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series on Disney+.
The WWE Hall Of Famer will appear as Ares, the god of War, in a recurring guest star role. Edge has previously starred in shows such as “Vikings,” “Haven,” and “The Flash” and films like “Money Plane” and “Interrogation.”
The character is described as “handsome in a wicked way and arrogant, despite not always being the sharpest tool in the shed. He loves conflict and acts as an agent of chaos wherever he goes.”
Walker Scobell stars as Percy Jackson, alongside Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri. have also been cast in the series.
It’s based on the novel series of the same name by Rick Riordan. Quaker Moving Pictures, Co-Lab21, James Bobin, Inc., Moorish Dignity Productions, The Gotham Group, 20th Television, and Disney Branded Television produce the series.
It is scheduled to premiere on December 20, 2023, with the first season having eight episodes.
The premise notes, “12-year-old demigod Percy Jackson is accused by the Greek god Zeus of stealing his thunderbolt.”
