D’Lo Brown says he still has the original WWE European title, why he initially hated the protective vest gimmick

WWE Hall Of Famer Sean “X-Pac” Waltman welcomed D-Lo Brown as his guest on the latest “X-PAC 1,2, 360” podcast. D’Lo is now part of the Impact Wrestling broadcast team. He was on to talk about Impact and his run in WWE.

Here are some highlights:

D’Lo Brown talking about wearing the vest as a gimmick in the ring: “When the vest idea was given to me, I hated it. I hated the concept. I thought everyone was going to call me Johnny Bench.  But then after I sat and thought about it, I was like, I’m not a super heavyweight.  I need something that is going to separate me from the rest of the roster, something that is going to make me stand out.  That’s what the chest protector did.  When you put it in the contents of a heel, using a fake injury to put on this vest, the Iron Mike Sharpe thing with the arm, and getting heat because my finish utilizes an illegal object, it got heat and pissed people off so I loved it.”

X-Pac and D’Lo Brown talking about the look of the Intercontinental and European Belts:  X-Pac said, “Aesthetically, I think it was a beautiful belt.  I really loved the look of that belt and I really hated the look of the I.C. belt (at that the time the European Title was around).  D’Lo Brown said he still has the real European Title and he pulled it out to show X-Pac.
