Malakai Black, Miro, and Ricky Starks are gone from AEW with all three either already in WWE or on their way back to the company. Starks showed up in NXT last week, while Dave Meltzer reported that Those in WWE had said creative had been talking about Black and Miro.
There is speculation that Black may join The Judgment Day when he returns. On the January 20th episode of Raw, Chad Gable asked Dominik Mysterio for advice about handling his issues with luchador stars Penta El Zero Miedo, Dragon Lee, and Rey Mysterio. Mysterio gave him a paper with a name on it, but we couldn’t see whose name it was.
Gable declared, “I’m about to master the dark arts of Lucha Libre.” This led to speculation that this could hint at Black’s WWE arrival as he runs Dark Arts Pro Wrestling & Muay Thai alongside his wife, Zelina Vega.
Mysterio has urged Finn Balor to bring in a new member since JD McDonough is out with an injury, but Balor rejected the idea on TV. Mysterio responded to No-Contest Wrestling Podcast host O’Shea Jackson Jr.’s tweet, who suggested that Black join the group.
A GIF of Black posted by Jackson Jr. caught Rey Mysterio’s attention. Mysterio responded with a GIF that simply said, “No. We’re good. Thanks.”
