Logan Paul has addressed the rumors surrounding President-elect Donald Trump potentially attending John Cena’s final wrestling match in Washington, D.C. Speaking to Fox News, the WWE superstar confirmed that the possibility has been a topic of conversation within the company.
Logan Paul Confirms Internal Discussions
With Cena set to retire from in-ring competition at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, speculation has mounted regarding high-profile attendees. Paul stated that he is aware of the chatter and believes Trump’s presence would add to the spectacle, though he remains unsure if the company will ultimately pull the trigger on such a move.
“We (people in the WWE) have talked about it. I have no idea. It seems like something that could happen. I think it’d be awesome,” Paul said. “But I don’t know how political the WWE wants to get, so I’m not sure.”
Donald Trump’s History With WWE
Donald Trump has a long-standing history with WWE, having hosted WrestleMania IV and WrestleMania V at Trump Plaza. He was also a central figure in the “Battle of the Billionaires” at WrestleMania 23, where he managed Bobby Lashley to a victory over Umaga, resulting in Vince McMahon getting his head shaved.
Trump was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013. His potential appearance at Cena’s farewell would mark a significant moment, as the event is taking place in the nation’s capital just weeks before his inauguration.
John Cena’s Historic Farewell
John Cena’s final match will take place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., streaming live on Peacock. The 17-time World Champion announced his retirement tour earlier this year, stating that he would hang up his boots for good in December 2025.
Reports from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter previously stated that WWE expected “leading political figures” to be invited to the show. While Trump’s attendance is not confirmed, former WWE star Tyrus recently shared confidence that the President-elect would be there, telling Inside The Ring it was “1000%” happening.
