Don’t expect to see Brock Lesnar on WWE TV anytime soon

It was revealed earlier this week that WWE officials had “torn up” the original card for this year’s SummerSlam.

As a result, two matches had to be nixed from the show. The reason for those matches not happening is due to the injury suffered by WWE Hall of Famer Edge, and former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar not being expected to work this show.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Lesnar is not scheduled for SummerSlam. The former WWE Champion hasn’t been seen on WWE television since dropping the WWE Title to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36.

Meltzer noted that “one of the reasons he put over McIntyre so strongly was because he was not coming back any time soon.”

Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, has not been brought back to the TV tapings since Vince McMahon decided to remove him as the Executive Director of Raw.

WWE still has plans of booking Drew McIntyre defending the WWE Title against Randy Orton in one of the top matches at SummerSlam.

You can see a list of rumored matches for SummerSlam here. The pay-per-view event takes place at the Performance Center on August 23rd.
