Don’t hold your breath on The Shield reuniting in the near future

It was really nice when Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns finally got the band back together and reformed The Shield.

The Hounds Of Justice were set to do battle at TLC in a grand return but a case of the mumps caused Reigns to be sidelined. Of course, we got Kurt Angle’s in-ring return out of the deal it wasn’t a total loss.

Although Ambrose, Rollins, and Reigns marched their way through the crowd at Survivor Series to defeat The New Day in a dream match, Dean Ambrose was soon sidelined with an injury as Roman Reigns was distracted by the Royal Rumble and now it looks like The Lunatic Fringe could be out of action for a very long time.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter listed a plethora of DVDs that WWE has in the pipeline for 2018 including one entitled, “The Shield Rise And Fall.” This DVD is slated for a release on July 9th which falls at an interesting time just before WWE starts planning The Biggest Party Of The Summer (Unrelated note: This date happens to fall on the same date when Ric Flair is scheduled to have his next surgery).

The title of this upcoming Shield DVD is quite concerning for fans who hoped for another edition of The Hounds Of Justice once Dean Ambrose is able to return. Never say never in WWE, but when they title something “rise and fall” it’s usually not a good sign. After all, The Rise And Fall Of WCW is a great documentary, but it’s about a pro wrestling company that no longer exists after crumbling before our eyes.
