Former WWE and current TNA star Drew Galloway spoke with Justin Barrasso of SI.com to talk about Sunday’s Royal Rumble PPV event. When asked about the WWE Championship match between John Cena and AJ Styles. He noted that when you integrate someone like Cena, who has been positioned as the guy, and someone like Styles then you have a recipe for success. He noted that the response Cena elicits from the crowd is unreal. He added that Styles had been considered one of the best wrestlers in the world and when they are wrestling together it’s magic.
When asked about Randy Orton winning the Royal Rumble match, he said that Orton was bred for pro wrestling and pointed out that Orton is a third generation star who looks and talks the part. He noted that Orton is the complete package in the ring. He noted that Orton has always been brutally honest and he thinks that is the reason that they clicked when they having conversations. “This business is the one thing Randy truly understands. He is always evolving and adapting to what is relevant in the modern TV era.”
Roman Reigns received a negative reaction when he walked out as the final entrant in the match and when asked about it, Galloway said that Reigns looks great, has stage presence and is solid in the ring. He noted that the issue with Reigns is that he being positioned as the chosen one and when that happens, fans reject it. “But he gets a huge response either way, which means they care and speaks to his overall talent much like Cena.”
