After several days of uncertainty due to travel issues, Drew McIntyre has confirmed he will be at WWE SummerSlam for his scheduled tag team match. In a video posted to social media, McIntyre revealed that his partner, Logan Paul, sent his private jet to fly him back to the United States from the UK, ensuring his presence at the massive event.
The speculation surrounding McIntyre’s status began earlier in the week when McIntyre said he was “stuck in the UK” and might miss SummerSlam. The Miz had even offered to take his place in the high-profile match.
“The Answer is Absolutely Hell No”
In the social media video, McIntyre addressed the situation directly, acknowledging the rampant speculation while also taking a shot at The Miz.
“The past few days, my phone’s been exploding. Text messages, direct messages, phone calls, everybody looking for an answer to leak it somewhere I’m sure, rather than actually checking if I’m okay,” McIntyre said. “So the update is here. It wasn’t looking good. It’s not felt good. I’ve seen Miz, little selfish of you offering to take my place… I’ve got an update for you, Mike. The answer is absolutely hell no.”
Logan Paul’s Assist
Logan Paul then appeared in the video, confirming his role in getting his partner back to the country and sending a message to their SummerSlam opponents, Randy Orton and Jelly Roll.
“You tried to get me stuck in the UK. I know you’re behind it, but this guy’s got more powerful friends than you,” McIntyre said. “He sent the jet and it’s Saturday. Come on, gentlemen, Randy, Jelly, you are screwed.”
The celebrity-infused tag team match is one of several main event-level bouts on the stacked two-night card for WWE’s “Biggest Party of the Summer.”
