A new and unexpected power duo was formed at WWE SummerSlam when Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul joined forces to defeat the team of Randy Orton and Jelly Roll. McIntyre recently discussed the new alliance.
“He Deserves to Be Here”
Speaking on the Huge Pop podcast with Donny De-Silva and Jimmy Korderas, McIntyre was asked for his thoughts on teaming with a celebrity from outside the wrestling world. He had high praise for Logan Paul, stating that he no longer considers him an “outsider” due to the hard work and respect he has shown for the business.
“Somebody like Logan, he’s a super athlete. He has a respect and passion for WWE, but he knows exactly who he is, like you mentioned, that’s the difference right there… He wants to be here and he deserves to be here, and I don’t consider him an outsider. He’s one of our superstars now, and I guess he’s my tag partner.”
The 2025 Version of DX?
McIntyre compared their potential to that of one of the most controversial and influential factions in WWE history, D-Generation X. “We just need to find a freaking name for a little group now, everybody was a vibe of like the original DX to me, like when Sean and Hunter got together and they had that mentality of, they’ll just say and do outrageous things, because that’s who they were.
You know, Logan was doing it over here, and I was doing it over here, and mostly interviews like this, saying outrageous things, and also on TV, but it’s not outrageous, it’s just how I feel. And he put us together, it’s like, okay, wow, this could have some, some dangerous vibes for the management. And the funny thing is, I’ll be Hunter going, Okay, I know I used to do that, but you can’t do that.”
