WWE WrestleMania 35 is remembered for it having the first-ever women’s main event between Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair as well as Batista and Kurt Angle having their retirement bouts.

Roman Reigns also had his first match back after announcing his battle with leukemia. He relinquished his WWE Universal Title in October 2018 and returned in February after revealing his leukemia was in remission.

Reigns worked with McIntyre at this show, but many felt it was underwhelming. While speaking with Alfonso A. Castillo of Newsday, McIntyre talked about the match.

“That was my first singles match at a WrestleMania. Roman was coming back from his illness. And, as much as Roman and I wanted to have a particular kind of match and try and steal the show, that was not the story for the night. The story was showing the world that Roman Reigns was back at 100%, and he was basically going to steamroll whoever is in his path. And unfortunately, I was in his path that night.”

The Bloodline (Reigns & The Usos) and McIntyre & RK-Bro will take place in a six-man tag team match at WrestleMania Backlash this Sunday.

As previously reported, WWE is saving the big title match between Reigns and McIntyre for one of the upcoming stadium shows.
