Drew McIntyre recently returned to WWE television after a brief hiatus and has provided a positive update on his physical condition. In a new interview, the former WWE Champion stated that he feels better now than he has in the last several years.
McIntyre Feeling Better Than Ever
Speaking with FOX News, McIntyre discussed his current health status, equating it to how he felt before his career-defining Royal Rumble victory in 2020.
“I honestly feel better than I felt in about, minimum, six or seven years,” McIntyre said. He credited new workout methods for his improved condition, stating, “I brought somebody in to start doing rehab at the gym, stretching things I’ve never done in my life and it’s unbelievable what it’s opened in my body.”
Return From Hiatus And Marquee Matchup
McIntyre had been off WWE programming since a steel cage match loss to Damian Priest but made his return on the July 4th episode of SmackDown. During a segment involving Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes, McIntyre got into a confrontation with Orton, which has led to a marquee singles match between the two this Saturday.
The match between McIntyre and Orton is set for the Saturday Night’s Main Event special this weekend. According to the latest betting odds from BetOnline, McIntyre is currently a -200 favorite to defeat Orton, who is listed as a +150 underdog.
