Drew McIntyre: ‘I’ve Seen Hundreds Of You’ NXT Stars Come And Go

Drew McIntyre has revealed his motivation for attacking Cody Rhodes during the opening match of Saturday Night’s Main Event. The December 13 special began with Rhodes facing NXT Champion Oba Femi in a Champion vs. Champion bout, which ended in a no-contest due to McIntyre’s interference.

Speaking in a video posted to X with the caption “2025 has been a disaster,” McIntyre expressed his frustration with his current position. “Are you pissed off? Good. I’ve been pissed off for a long time now. I just don’t care what anyone thinks anymore. I have to feel that way, otherwise I’d just go completely insane. Anyone else in my position would’ve lost their mind by now,” McIntyre stated.

He also dismissed the significance of the night’s main event, adding, “I’ve left the arena, I’m at the airport. I don’t give a damn that it’s Cena’s last night, I don’t, I’m not even watching.”

McIntyre also had harsh words for Oba Femi, who knocked him down following the interference. Calling the NXT Champion an “NPC,” McIntyre said, “To that NPC in the ring with Cody tonight, you still get your big moment, kid, don’t worry… I’m sure you’ve got a ton of potential, I’ve seen hundreds of you, though. They’ve all come, they all go, they’ve probably got 20 more ‘next big things’ in the PC, actually, so good luck, fella.”
