Drew McIntyre Made History On WWE Monday Night Raw

Monday’s episode of WWE Raw opened in a big way as the company booked a hot match between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre.

Match

It ended when The Bloodline got involved to aid McIntyre. Jimmy Uso knocked Rhodes off the apron before the referee kicked him out from ringside. Solo Sikoa showed up, hitting Rhodes with a samoan spike.

McIntyre capitalized by hitting the claymore kick to pick up the pinfall win, resulting in a rare Rhodes loss. This is ahead of Rhodes challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 40.

Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins will appear on the Grayson Waller Effect this Saturday at Elimination Chamber, where it’s expected WWE will confirm Rhodes & Rollins vs. The Rock & Reigns on the first night of Mania.

Stat

According to CageMatch.net, McIntyre handed Rhodes his first television singles match loss since Rhodes, then known as Stardust, lost to Zack Ryder on a May 2016 episode of Superstars.

Rhodes has only lost to Reigns, and Brock Lesnar in a TV or PLE singles match since returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38 in 2022. Rhodes’ previous loss was last November on Raw when he and Jey Uso lost the Undisputed Tag Team Titles to The Judgment Day (Damian Priest & Finn Balor).
