Drew McIntyre On The Rock: “He’s Always Looked Out For Me”

Drew McIntyre spoke about his long-standing positive relationship with The Rock, noting that the WWE legend has been a source of advice and support since McIntyre was a young talent in the company.

“He’s always been there since I was a kid, and he’s in and out of WWE. He always took the time to give me advice. Has always looked out for me the entire time when he’s around,” McIntyre stated on Gorilla Position. “I still remember being a kid, and it was ex-wife business partner, Danny [Garcia], was on a flight I was on and had such positive words to say when I was so young, which was really cool… even when I was doing nothing. The 3MB guy, they was still there giving advice.”

He also recalled The Rock mentioning him as a future star in a TMZ clip “prior to the big push” before his 2020 Royal Rumble win, saying, “He just always believed in me. And thank goodness, things have kind of come to pass eventually.”

When asked about his own future and longevity, McIntyre acknowledged the physical toll. “It certainly doesn’t feel as good as it used to, that it looks better than it ever has… but on the inside, it doesn’t feel great. So we’ll see. I just take each year as it comes.”

He pointed to a fellow veteran as inspiration: “I look at Seamus and he’s just turned you know, 87 he’s still going stronger than ever. So you never know.”

McIntyre added that his feud with Roman Reigns is a long-term story he expects to revisit: “I’m sure we’ll find our way back to each other in heaven.”
