Drew McIntyre: “85% Of Our Guys Don’t Look Like They Should Be In WWE”

Former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre did not hold back when giving his assessment of the current WWE roster, stating that he believes the vast majority of today’s superstars do not have the look required to be on the company’s biggest stage.

A Stark Contrast

During his appearance on Impaulsive with Logan Paul, McIntyre discussed the importance of presentation, especially as WWE’s platform grows with its move to Netflix. He contrasted established, larger-than-life stars like Logan Paul and Roman Reigns with what he sees as the rest of the roster.

“Get In The Freaking Gym”

McIntyre offered a blunt critique, stating that most of the current talent looks like they should be serving him fast food rather than competing in a WWE ring.

“For me, it’s just let me get in, you know, the environments where I can show, you know, we’re not a bunch of morons. We’re actually, you know, college educated. We can string sentences together. We know how to build a brand. You’re the master of it. I’ll be picking your brain. The more we work with each other, how I can grow this McIntyre. And the more you put me in those situations, especially WWE, drives me nuts when I see some of our guys on some of these huge, you know, public platforms, huge TV shows, because these days, no offense but 85% of our guys don’t look like they should be in WWE on Netflix and stuff. And my buddies like, Go, contact me. Go, yo. I’ve just turned on the wrestling for a while to see what you’re up to. It’s cool to see people. Oh, Logan Paul’s on there, and he’s killing it. You know, Roman Reigns. What a freaking star comes on the screen. Comes right off the screen. You’re a freaking giant. There’s these other guys that look like they should be serving me my fast food, McDonald’s or whatever, and let’s say I could kick their ass. It takes me out of it. And I’m like, oh, you know they’re good at wrestling. And eventually you’ll, you’ll connect with them, but I’m not gonna watch it long enough to change the channel. It’s like, Jesus, guys get in the freaking gym. At least get something that grabs your attention.”

Drew McIntyre is currently in the midst of his own physical transformation. He revealed on the podcast that he recently hired a personal trainer and nutritionist for the first time and has gained 15 pounds in five weeks on a 6,000-calorie-a-day diet.
