Drew McIntyre Posts Cryptic Video After ‘Quitting WWE’

Drew McIntyre has addressed his future following his on-screen WWE quit angle on SmackDown, posting a video on social media confirming he will face Jacob Fatu this Friday while deliberately leaving his long-term future vague.

McIntyre appeared on SmackDown and declared he was quitting WWE following a turbulent period that included losing the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes and dealing with interference from Jacob Fatu throughout the championship picture. In his social media video, McIntyre reflected on the frustration of his situation while making clear he has not lost his competitive edge.

“Came for a check-in,” McIntyre said. “Been a rough few weeks, right? Yeah. Same old story for Drew McIntyre, yeah? Difference this time is that so many people are opening their eyes to the truth that I’ve been preaching and realizing it’s not whining, it’s not complaining. It’s just been fact this whole time.”

McIntyre also addressed his family’s planned attendance at WrestleMania 42, a moment he said fell well short of what it should have been. “I don’t care how many of you are trying to jump on the bandwagon. It doesn’t make me champion, does it?” McIntyre said. “I’m not gonna shy away from the fact that I should be walking into Mania as champion. Family are all coming to America. Should be seeing his uncle walk down that aisle as champion but he’s not. I’m not gonna focus on how it all went down. I’ve done this dance so many times. I gotta keep fighting, I gotta keep pushing forward. But this time, I’m doing it my way.”

When asked about what comes next, McIntyre acknowledged the uncertainty while making one thing clear. “What does my future hold? I really don’t know. Really don’t know at this point,” McIntyre said. “But what I do know is I’ll see you this Friday on SmackDown, Jacob.”

McIntyre is set to face Jacob Fatu on tonight’s episode of SmackDown. Although not confirmed, the speculation is the two will also be wrestling each other at WrestleMania 42, which takes place April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
