Drew McIntyre has been pulled from tonight’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown
PWInsider reports that McIntyre was originally scheduled to be part of the show and he was scheduled to do a signing for Cricket Wireless today but he was replaced by Gunther. It’s unclear why he was pulled.
PWInsider reported last week that McIntyre’s deal is coming up this year and both sides are “not anywhere close to terms” for a new deal, per multiple sources. McIntyre’s push has cooled off in recent months.
One would think that a deal will be reached but it’s interesting that both sides are far apart. If he does not sign a new deal, it would be a no-brainer for companies like AEW, NJPW and others to reach out to him when they are legally able to.
