Drew McIntyre appears to have The Rock’s full backing in his WWE career and perhaps in his activities outside of the ring.
In an interview with Adam’s Apple, McIntyre addressed The Rock’s expressed belief in him. He revealed a conversation they had at Elimination Chamber, hinting at big plans for the future.
“It all started, you know, The Rock saying those positive words that you captured in 2018. Re-signing [with WWE] last year, knowing where the company was going to go. The Rock had sent me that sword. He’s always been on my side. I got a chance to talk with him at Elimination Chamber, and there’s a few things on the horizon. They’re going to be pretty big once it becomes public.”
The Rock previously endorsed McIntyre years ago as someone he saw big potential in. Since then, McIntyre has held World Titles in WWE twice.
It appears McIntyre’s journey to WrestleMania 41 will be defined by a program with former World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest.
