Drew McIntyre thinks winning WWE Title twice cements his place at the top level

Drew McIntyre did an interview with SportsKeeda to promote this Sunday’s WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view event.

At this show, he’ll be facing WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns in a champion vs. champion match, but it will be a non-title contest.

During the interview, McIntyre was asked about winning the WWE Title. Of course, his first reign started when he slayed “The Beast” Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36 earlier this year.

He had a long reign as champion until he was dethroned by Randy Orton at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event last month. However, Orton only held the title for a few weeks as he dropped the title back to McIntyre this past Monday night on Raw.

“There’ve been a few people that have been fortunate enough to win the title once, which is a cool thing to win at once, but then have not been able to kind of maintain the position of winning a second time and prove themselves a top of the card. So winning it for a second time, you know, was really cool to kind of cement myself at the top level of WWE.”

McIntyre also talked about the importance of beating Lesnar for the title and having fans at the ThunderDome for his most recent win. The full interview can be found here.
