Drew McIntyre’s bump at WWE Hell in a Cell was inspired by Shawn Michaels 1997 match

During this morning’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez recapped last night’s WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

Meltzer shared an interesting tidbit on McIntyre’s bump off the cage. He said that McIntyre wanted to emulate the same bump that Shawn Michaels took in 1997 during the first Hell in a Cell match. He said, “Drew Galloway, when he was a kid, saw the match with Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker in the very first Hell in the Cell match and this was the bump Shawn Michaels took in that match. I guess there was a part of him that wanted to take that bump and so he did.”

McIntyre lost the WWE Championship to Randy Orton and it looks like this is the end of their feud because Orton will be moving onto other feuds and, as of now, Orton is expected to walk into WrestleMania as the champion. Click here for spoiler news on plans for Orton at Mania.

WWE has been considering a big match for McIntyre at Survivor Series. Click here for spoiler news on the huge match being considered for McIntyre at Survivor Series.
