The new movie, “Dune: Part Two,” continues to be a juggernaut at the box office. The first movie brought in $402 million for the studio. The budget is reported to be $190 million.

Denis Villeneuve and Jon Spaihts wrote the film, which was produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Patrick McCormick, Denis Villeneuve, and Tanya Lapointe.
Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Oscar Isaac, Zendaya, Stellan Skarsgård, and Jason Momoa, returned to the franchise in their roles from the first movie. Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Léa Seydoux joined the cast for the second film. Bautista portrays Glossu Rabban, the brutish nephew of Baron Harkonnen.
Box office success
According to Box Office Mojo, the film has earned $367 million worldwide, with $210 million coming internationally and $157 million in the United States in 4,071 theaters in just over two weeks.
The latest installment in the series has already surpassed the first film’s box office revenue in the US, as the previous movie drew $108 million domestically. It’s still $115 million behind the first film internationally.
The movie was surpassed by “Kung Fu Panda 4” this weekend for its premiere, bringing in $58.3 million compared to Dune’s $46 million.
