Edge and Christian recently spoke with Alfred Konuwa of Forbes to promote their podcast, which launched on Friday on iTunes. When asked about the E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness podcast, Edge said that they want it to be very fan-interactive and that they’re going to have a voicemail set up where you can leave ideas or say what they want then they’ll play it on the air. He noted that they don’t want to take themselves too seriously and that allows room for them to just have fun. Christian added that they want to talk about everything from wrestling to being fathers to music and more.
The Hardys are reportedly in talks with WWE about returning to the company, but the big question is whether they would return as the Hardy Boyz or as Broken Matt Hardy and Brother Nero. Edge said that crazier things have worked on that mainstream of scale. Christian said that it’s all about reinventing yourself and that you could possibly be the Hardy Boyz and make that ride from town to town and hope that people follow along with that nostalgia. He also said that instead they’ve taken the bull by the horns and reinvented themselves and stayed current, stayed fresh and keep people talking
“Wrestling is all about reinvention, and if you don’t reinvent yourself, you’re going to get stagnant, and people are going to get bored,” said Edge. “I think back to when I came back from my first neck surgery, and I came back as the babyface that I was when I left. I went into my hometown of Toronto with the IC title against [Chris] Jericho and Batista and got booed.” Edge added that the Hardys are smart enough to try new stuff. He noted that he hasn’t seen a lot of it but saw a few things and thought it was awesome.
