Edge and Finn Balor may have a different look and presentation at WWE WrestleMania

Although fans didn’t see the match happen at the WWE Royal Rumble, it looks like WWE is building to their match at WrestleMania Goes Hollywood.

As WrestlingNews.co exclusively reported in December, WWE had plans to do Edge vs. Finn Balor at Royal Rumble, where they would meet inside of Hell in a Cell, and Balor would portray his Demon character while Edge was internally listed with The Brood persona. This would’ve been a way to further the Judgment Day vs. Edge feud.

The bout was nixed due to Edge’s filming schedule not allowing him to appear on WWE TV in the lead-up to it.

Fightful Select reports some in the company “felt as if the Demon persona didn’t fit during the current iteration of Judgment Day, and were against it in this situation.” However, there were others who felt like that match would have needed the extra buzz of it returning.

Edge and Beth Phoenix beat The Judgment Day (Balor and Rhea Ripley) at the WWE Elimination Chamber PLE last Saturday. WWE kept the feud going when Balor interfered in Edge’s match with United States Champion Austin Theory on Monday’s Raw. The finish saw Balor kick Edge in the head, allowing Theory to hit the A-Town Down. Post-match, Balor beat down Edge and hit three Coup de Grace on him.

With WWE not going through with its plans at the Royal Rumble and the two on a collision course for a one-on-one match at WrestleMania, it looks like the two stars could portray their alter egos at WrestleMania in April.
