WWE Hall of Famer Edge and former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Christian offered their take about the way that WWE has handled the change made to the main event of the upcoming Fastlane pay-per-view.
On this week’s SmackDown Live that Kevin Owens would replace Kofi Kingston in the title match against WWE Champion Daniel Bryan at Fastlane.
The former WWE Tag Team Champions would praise WWE’s decision to do this as it creates a fresh feud while bidding time to get to Kingston vs. Bryan at WrestleMania 35 and not burning out the fans with seeing this match twice before the biggest event of the year.
Christian: “I think it’s another twist and a play off of what we saw with Becky Lynch. It’s another good surprise because nobody was expecting to see Kevin Owens back. I think it’s to further build this organic KofiMania. It was interesting and I didn’t see it coming. It makes sense to extend the feud to Mania.”
Edge: “That way you don’t have to see it three pay-per-views in a row. I think it is awesome. It’s great because it injects Owens into it. Him and Bryan will have a great match. It also allows Kofi to go to Mania and get an amazing moment.”
