The media rounds continue for WWE Hall of Famer Edge heading into his second match since he made his return in January at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event.
The former WWE Champion recently spoke with GQ to promote his Last Man Standing match with Randy Orton at WrestleMania 36.
During the interview, he was asked whether having no fans in attendance has any effect on his mindset going into the match. This is where he shared his lofty goal.
“Honestly, I want this to be my best WrestleMania match ever.”
It’s something that the interviewer brought up as that statement comes with high expectations considering the matches that he’s had at the event over the years. He understands that and sees it as a challenge.
“It is, but what a challenge! That’s what I’m going for,” Edge said. “I want to blow people’s minds, man. I really do. I want to come back at 46 years old and be in the shape that I always wanted to be in. Right now, I have it all dialed in. My diet is now taken off my plate, so I can fully concentrate on telling the story I want to tell.”
Edge talked about how he wants to bring the elements that he learned by acting into a wrestling match. He added that by the time this is all done, his goal is to have fans saying that his second run was better than his first one.
Edge also talked about the pressure of making a return to action, his preparation for the contest and more. You can read the entire interview here.
